We warmly welcome all “Chemistarians” of the University of Karachi.

We are graduates of the Chemistry Department, Class of 1973, University of Karachi. Even before celebrating our Golden Jubilee in 2023, we had resolved to contribute meaningfully to our alma mater. We are committed to serving our department in every possible way. Alhamdulillah, over the past two years, we have seen many of our dreams come true, and we are proud of these achievements.

Our contributions include:

• Renovation and restoration of a section of the department building

• Installation of modern laboratory equipment in collaboration with several prestigious institutions

• Payment of tuition fees for students from low-income families

• Installation of a high-tech water cooler to ensure clean drinking water is available 24/7

• Organizing regular lectures and symposiums to raise student awareness and knowledge

• Launching, for the first time in the department’s history, valuable annual merit-based scholarships for MPhil and PhD students

• Complete restoration and refurbishment of the basement after massive flooding—caused by a burst pipeline in Karachi—which had submerged 10 to 12 feet of water, destroying chemicals, equipment, and classrooms

Our efforts have been widely appreciated,
and many individuals have expressed willingness
to expand and support these initiatives further:

Today, we are no longer limited to the 1973 batch—we have extended our mission.

Until two years ago, we were only “I.”

In just two years, united, we became “we.”

Old friends came together, reminiscing about their time.

From those reunions, we drew fresh energy.

At the final turn of life, we discovered new experiences.

We forgot our sorrows and pains.

We laughed, smiled, and continued to work.

And whenever a frown of anger tried to appear on our foreheads, we brushed it away with laughter.

We are now working on several major state-of-the-art projects for our department.

Our alma mater looks toward us—Chemistarians—with great hope.
